FM Kevin Gentes at 2016 Grand Pacific Open (Victoria, B.C.)

The other day, while looking at the Grand Pacific Open (Victoria, B.C.) standings, I noted Manitoba Champion FM Kevin Gentes near the top of the leader board.  In a most unfortunate pairing he played his good friend, and former Winnipeg resident, Edward Tang, in the second round.

Update, Monday:

Kevin tied for first with  FM Jason Cao (who took the trophy on tiebreak) and GM Alexandr Fier (Brazil) !
