Through the first six rounds, Manitoba is having a tough time, but thus far they played have all four of the perennial favorites; Alberta, Quebec, BC, Ontario. They drew their Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan opponent in rounds 5 and 6
Derek Ma leads Manitoba with 3.5 points after 6 rounds.

Round 7 - Manitoba defeated PEI 6.5 - 5.5
Round 8 - Newfoundland and Labrador defeated Manitoba 6.5 - 5.5
From my reckoning, it looks like Derek Ma may have a bronze wrapped up, he has 5.5, there are two leaders with 8, and no one else has more than 4.

Round 9 - Manitoba drew with New Brunswick
Manitoba finished in eighth place, but an additional half-point in two of the drawn matches would have had Manitoba in their 'traditional' fifth place finish.
Derek Ma did get the Bronze in Grade 5 with 6.5 points. Gustav Baron finished a credible fourth in Grade 12, just a half-point off the Bronze. Quite impressive for someone who just started playing two years ago !
