Hinds of Calgary passed away courageously and peacefully, with his
beloved wife Jessica Jaramillo at his side, on Tuesday, October 30, 2012
at the age of 58 years. Ron was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. He
received his BSc and MSc in Geophysics in Winnipeg and his PhD in
Geophysics in Pretoria, South Africa. Ron was involved in the oil and
gas industry in Calgary since the late 1970's. He was an active member
with APEGA, CSEG and SEG. He will be remembered as the great and
compassionate man he was. Ron is survived by his loving wife Jessica and
her parents Zamarino and Guiomar Jaramillo; two brothers, Robert and
Edward Hinds and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Nora Isabel
and Cyril Hinds. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi
Catholic Church (corner of 4 Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) today,
November 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow on a later
date at Queen's Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Dr. Ronald Hinds, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park
